The picture below shows Whanau Makomako. All teaching areas have a distinctive design with a large atrium area. Each atrium has a small student kitchen and students sit at tables in the atriums or in the courtyards to eat their lunch. The atriums are also used for assemblies and provide an extra teaching space for small group work.
