Option Selection 2010 for 2011 option subjects (current Year 8 and Year 9 students)
Note that the information shown here is for options being studied in 2011. The 2011 options will be made available by the middle of 2010.
There are a large number of options available and it is important for all students to read the curriculum booklet carefully. Teachers in charge of option subjects can also be contacted if there are any questions. To view the curriculum booklet click here. Students currently in year 8 need to select 3 options for year 9 in 2010 and one of these options must be chosen from The Arts. Year 9 options are 2 periods per option subject per 6 day cycle. Students currently in year 9 will need to select 3 options for Year 10 in 2010. Year 10 options are 3 periods per option subject per 6 day cycle. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the wide range of options available as there are no prerequisites for future choices at AJHS.
All options in Years 9 and 10 are full year and some options are by invitation only e.g. Sports Academy. Students that are undergoing the selection process for Sports Academy should select Sport Science as an option. It is not possible to select Sport Science and Sports Academy together as options. Option choices should be made in order of priority i.e. the first choice is the most preferred / highest priority choice and the last choice is the least preferred / lowest priority choice.
The online option choices are date stamped and students may re choose as many times as necessary but the most recent set of choices will be taken to be the preferred ones.
