Matariki, the Māori New Year, is a time of feasting and celebration. At AJHS, it’s become a cherished tradition for staff to make fried bread for the students, allowing everyone to share in this traditional Māori food. Each bite carries the warmth and tradition of New Zealand’s cultural heritage.

It was also amazing to see all the students perform the Haka on the field and enjoy fried bread together with the staff.
