THANK YOU

As we come to an end of an incredibly busy term for the sports department, we would like to take this opportunity to thank the incredible volunteers that have been involved in AJHS Sport in 2025.

Firstly a massive thank you to our volunteer coaches and managers for your time and energy, allowing our students to experience the amazing opportunities that are offered in sport.  With over 75 regular season teams so far this year, we require a lot of resources to get these teams into the playing arena, so thank you! Your input is so appreciated!

Also thank you to our incredible officials, who have braved the elements as well as the sideline during the year. Being a game official can be a thankless task, but we appreciate you all so much.

Lastly to all the helpers with zone day/event transport, supervision and support, thank you. You are all so appreciated and we hope that those that are available will continue to be involved in AJHS Sport in term 4 and into 2026!

Have an amazing break and we look forward to seeing you back in term 4.

BADMINTON SEASON WRAP UP:

Term 3 has seen the return of the North Harbour Badminton Competition for both Year 7 and 8 and Year 9 and 10. Due to covid, and then the floods last year, there has been a break in the full schools competition in the past few years, so it has been fantastic to have our students involved in 2025.

We had 5 teams representing AJHS in the Year 7 and 8 competition, and 3 teams playing in the Year 9 and 10 competition. Students have been attending early morning training sessions during Term 3 with Harbour Badminton coaches, and it has been fantastic to watch the growth in our competitive players.

We have had some amazing results, with our AJHS Boys Intermediate Blue team winning the Active Section 1, and our AJHS Boys Silver team winning the Active Section 2 competition.
