This week, AJHS Year 8 band ‘Full Stop’, competed in Band Quest 2025 at the Bruce Mason Centre.

Band Quest is a national competition that celebrates the talents of intermediate and junior high school musicians, giving students the opportunity to perform live on stage in a professional venue.

The band, made up of Emma Oh, Alex Sy, Boston Davies, Mia Hurst and Nathan Ryan, arrived at 1.00pm for their sound check, before taking a dinner break and returning for the evening show. With 14 bands from across Auckland taking part, the night was full of amazing energy and talent from young musicians.

When it was their turn to shine, Full Stop delivered a high-energy performance of Sk8er Boi and Holiday. Their stage presence and enthusiasm really impressed the audience and judges alike, helping them secure an impressive 3rd place overall. The evening was a huge success and a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
