Rina Botha

Head of Learning - Mathematics

About Me

I have returned to AJHS as Head of Mathematics after 5 years teaching at Wentworth College. Teaching Mathematics requires more creativity than I imagined. The need for new ways to introduce and connect ideas and to engage students, inspires me to create exciting problems and tasks at the correct level of complexity. I would describe myself as a warm, accessible, enthusiastic and caring teacher. My goal is to help students gain confidence in their ability and to achieve the best they can. Students should know they can come to me with any problems or concerns or even to share a funny story.
