Last week our campus felt a little more global, as we opened our doors to 30 visitors from across China.
The group, representing various Study Abroad Agencies, came to see firsthand what makes New Zealand’s education – and specifically the AJHS experience – so special.
The day kicked off with a Mihi Whakatau led by our students. It was one of those “hairs on the back of your neck” moments; the warmth and cultural richness of the welcome really struck a chord with our guests and set a wonderful tone for the rest of the day.
While we loved showing off our facilities and academic programs, the real highlight was hearing from one of our own. Layla Hou stood up and spoke beautifully about her journey from Suzhou to AJHS. She shared how easy it was to settle in thanks to the support here, her “home away from home” experience with her homestay family, and the friendships she’s made. Seeing her speak with such genuine confidence made us all incredibly proud.
A huge thank you to the staff and students who represented our school with such kindness and professionalism. We’re excited to keep building these international bridges, and look forward to welcoming more students into our AJHS family soon!
