College Basketball
We had an incredibly successful college (Year 9 and 10) basketball season this year with all 7 of our teams finishing in the top 6 of their grades. A massive thank you to all of the coaches and managers for such a smooth season. Results as follows:

College Football
This year we had three Year 9 and 10 football teams compete in the College Sport North Harbour Leagues. Our teams took part in a lengthy all weather season and had some fantastic results.
A special mention to Mr Callon for coaching both the Girls and Boys 1st XI, and Warren for coaching our Boys 2nd XI giving up multiple days a week to train and attend matches. Also to our managers Gaynor and Chelsea for keeping our teams together behind the scenes.

Hockey
This year we had four Year 7 and 8 hockey teams playing in the Harbour Hockey 7-a-side Intermediate Competition.
Special mention to the Maroon Boys team for grading in the top Intermediate grade this year, with some great hockey played. All of the teams have had a great season developing their hockey, building connections and making great memories.
Thank you to our coaches Angela Simmons, Natalie Goslin, Neeson Naidoo and Liesel Rhoodie and managers Kim Stewart, Neville Thomson, Victoria Anderson and Jessica Way. Also a special thank you to the umpires that have helped out throughout the season.
In College Hockey we had seven boys play in the combined ASHS/AJHS/Hobsonville team, which played in the College Sport North Harbour Hockey Competition. The three schools have combined for a number of years now, which has given the boys a great opportunity to continue with their hockey and build new connections.
Thanks to Sandy Bennett and Angela Simmons for leading this team and to the three schools for making this opportunity work.
Year 7 and 8 Netball
The Netball North Harbour Year 7 and 8 season has also come to an end. We have had six Year 7 teams and three Year 8 teams playing in term 2 and 3 at Netball North Harbour.
Thirty three Year 8 students, 60 Year 7 students, 8 coaches, 8 managers and 3 regular umpires took to the courts each week.
Congratulations to all of our teams for a fantastic season, and a very big thank you to our coaches, managers and umpires that have made it possible to have so many students involved in netball at AJHS in 2024.

College Netball
We had five teams playing in the Netball North Harbour College Netball Competition this year. Forty nine students, 4 coaches, 5 managers and 4 regular umpires took to the courts each Saturday over Term 2 and 3.
Playing in a Year 9-13 competition can sometimes be daunting for some of our students, but all of our teams have shown great commitment and determination over the year. Special mention goes to our AJHS 1 team finishing runner-up in the College 6 grade.
Congratulations to Karenza Taljaard for a successful year of umpiring and being awarded the WILSON ROBERTSON CUP at the recent Netball North Harbour Prizegiving. This cup is awarded to a First Year Junior Umpire that has shown Improvement Gaining Her Junior Award, Centre Theory And Centre Badge this Year.
A massive thank you to our coaches, managers and umpires for your contribution to our college netball. We cannot do it without all of our amazing volunteers.
Zespri NZ Aims Games 2024
What an incredible week. A massive congratulations to all of our 90 students that attended AIMS 2024. Lots of amazing moments with some incredible sport played, new friendships gained and memories of a lifetime made.
A special congratulations to: Amy Wang
– Winning Gold in the Division 1 Girls Badminton Singles Competition. Retaining her title that she won last year.
Incredible achievement: Amelia-Rose Searle
– Winning 4 silver and 1 bronze medal in the Girls Swimming 13 year old event.
Amelia also recorded 5 other top 10 places. An amazing few days of swimming by Amelia
Also congratulations to Nyah Slade for finishing in 5th place in the Year 7 Girls cross country event from a field of 147 runners.

This event would not have been possible without our amazing staff, parents/caregivers and student helpers.
Until you have been involved in this event you do not appreciate the expectations so thank you to everyone for making this possible for our tamariki. A small rest and then preparations start for 2025.

College Sport Individual Swimming Champs Success:
Congratulations to Year 8 student Amelia-Rose Searle who competed in the recent College Sport Auckland Individual Swimming Champs and won a silver medal in the Junior Girls 100m butterfly event.
Auckland Interzone Cross Country Champion:
Congratulations to Nyah Slade who won the Year 7 Auckland Interzone Cross Country title This is a massive achievement competing against students from all of the zones in the Auckland Region.
Congratulations also to Kylie Lu who finished 10th in the same event.
We had a team of 10 students qualify from the Harbour Zone Day for this event, and they all performed incredibly well.
Auckland Schools XC Mountain Biking Race Series Winners:
At the start of September, the 5th and final race of the 2024 Auckland Schools XC Mountain Biking race series was held at Riverhead.
A massive congratulations to Year 9 student Ethan Rawson who finished in first place for U14 males for 2024 and Year 8 student Brooke McCabe who finished in first place for U13 girls for 2024.
Congrats to both Ethan and Brooke and all of the AJHS riders that took part.
