The North Shore Life Education mobile classroom is visiting our school in Term 2 from May 9th – June 24th, geared up for sessions with our Year 8 students.

The Life Education Trust is a health based education resource that aims to help children develop respect, understanding and appreciation of the human body and its complexities and help them learn about preventative substance abuse and what good substances are needed for a healthy lifestyle. The Year 8 students will be participating in four sessions, led by the Trust’s educator, Amy Williamson.

Discussion and teaching that will be part of these sessions include topics such as:

  • What are the impacts of the decisions we make?

  • Why are some drugs helpful and some harmful?

  • What are the possible negative effects of drug use?

  • What benefits are there in delaying our decisions?

If you would like to discuss this module further, please contact the school office for the educator’s email address – she is happy to be able to assist in any way.
