Modern, comfortable, informal

AJHS enjoys a spacious, modern library designed to create a comfortable and informal space where students are encouraged to read for personal enjoyment. By offering a wide range of quality literature alongside specialised collections (such as International Languages, graphic novels, illustrated novels, and a new range of Barrington Stokes books for developing and reluctant readers), the library supports students in becoming lifelong readers. Working closely with the Literacy Committee, the library also runs programs that actively promote a love of reading and help build a strong reading culture throughout the school.

To raise awareness, boost participation, and build a strong sense of community around the library, we also organize competitions and create engaging, relevant displays.

Services

A colour printer/copier/scanner is available for student use. With full Wi-Fi coverage, students can easily access school accounts and the internet through the school’s server, making it simple to use personal smart devices on campus.

Our library catalogue is accessible from anywhere, allowing students to search book lists, place holds, and access reliable research tools anytime. Through the Wheelers ePlatform, students can manage their own borrowing by issuing and returning eBooks on any smart device – whether at school, at home, or even on holiday.

The Student Librarian programme offers students a chance to contribute to the school community and develop leadership skills by serving as role models.

Regular library visits are integrated into students’ learning programmes to encourage ongoing engagement with the world of literature.
