PTA (Parent Teacher Association)
The AJHS Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has been established to create more opportunities for our AJHS students while creating a strong culture of inclusion and community spirit.
The core role of the PTA is three-fold;
- To provide fun social activities for students and parents
- To build connections within our school, strengthening the relationship and communication between school life and home life
- To fundraise for improved facilities and educational opportunities
PTA activities include:
- Quiz nights
- Gala days
- Dance Parties
- Movie nights
- Colour runs
- Knowledge-athons
Contributions in the last 18 months include:
- Fixing and reopening the playground: $4,000
- School van contribution: $10,000
- Hockey goal: $4,000
- Headsets for Learning Support: $100
- PAC bespoke curtain rail for Arts Faculty: $2,125
- Books for library: $400
- Chess timers for chess club: $370
- 2 x Microscope cameras for science labs: $1,400
- 3 x picnic tables for outside Kiwi Atrium: $2,780
- Laser Cutter contribution for technology faculty: $3,000
- Ukuleles, acoustic guitars and keyboards for music rooms: $3,820
- 25 x calculators for maths faculty: $950
Join the PTA
We always need parents and caregivers to join our PTA. There is no ongoing commitment and you can opt out at any time. Meetings are held online once a term, with WhatsApp communications keeping things moving in the interim.
