Sports Calendar

Students have a wide variety of sports that they can get involved in throughout the year.

Below is a schedule of inter school events for 2026. Please note that changes to these events and additional sports and events may be added during the course of the year as details become available.

Students interested in being involved in many of these opportunities should complete the Expression of Interest forms at the beginning of term 1. This assists with planning and organisation for the events.

Additional Sports Opportunities include: Year 7 and 8 Sports Camp, Year 9 and 10 Sports Camp and the Year 9 and 10 Sydney Trip as well as the NZ AIMS Games for Year 7 and 8 students. Please complete Expression for these opportunities at the beginning of term 1 for these opportunities as planning is starting already.

ATHLETICS Harbour Secondary School  Year 9 and 10

Students are selected from the AJHS Year 9 and 10 Athletics Day and will need to meet a selection criteria.
SWIMMING North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 10th March 2026 Students are selected from AJHS swimming sports and through a selection criteria.
TRIATHLON College Sport Auckland Year 9 and 10 10th March 2026 Triathlon EOI form to be completed. 

TRIATHLON North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day

 13th March 2026 EOI form to be completed. Anyone interested in competing can attend this event.
TENNIS BOYS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 16th March 2026 EOI form to be completed. Trials will be held to select teams. Experience required.
TENNIS GIRLS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 17th March 2026 EOI form to be completed. Trials will be held to select teams. Experience required.
ATHLETICS Year 9 and 10 CSA Auckland Champs 17th and 19th March 2026 Students will be selected from the results from the AJHS Athletics and NHSS Athletics Champs.

WATER POLO North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 4th June 2026 Current A team attends and if space opportunity for the B team also.
RUGBY GIRLS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 5th June 2026 EOI form to be completed. Trials required to select teams.
SWIMMING CSA Individual Championships 7th June 2026 EOI to be completed. Students must be experienced swimmers to be considered.
SWIMMING CSA Champion of Champions 7th June 2026 Students qualify from CSA Harbour event
SNOWSPORTS CSA Ski Champs Year 9 & 10 11th June 2026 EOI to be completed. Experience required.
GYMSPORTS CSA Champs (ART, RYH, TUM, TRA) 11th June 2026 EOI to be completed. Must currently compete in competitions.
HOCKEY North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Boys and Girls Zone Day 17th June 2026 Boys A and Girls A regular season teams attend this zone day.
TABLE TENNIS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 23rd June 2026 Team is selected from current regular season players.
NETBALL NH Secondary Tournament Year 9 & 10 TBC AJHS College 1 netball team selected to attend.

CROSS COUNTRY North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 4th August 2026 Top 10 students from each year/gender from the AJHS cross country selected to attend.
ROAD RACE CSA Champs Year 9 & 10 4th August 2026 Students selected from performances in school cross country.
BASKETBALL GIRLS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 18th August 2026 Top girls basketball team attend this day.
BASKETBALL BOYS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 19th August 2026 Year 8 Boys A team are selected for this zone day

GOLF Year 7 – 10 North Harbour Zone Day 9th November 2026 Open to current golf players that are members of a club or who play regularly. EOI to be completed.
BADMINTON BOYS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 10th November 2026 Top 4 boys players from the regular season to attend.
BADMINTON GIRLS North Harbour Year 7 & 8 Zone Day 12th November 2026 Top 4 girls players from the regular season to attend.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL GIRLS North Harbour Year 7 and 8 Zone Day 17th November 2026 Students selected from trialists from indoor volleyball zone day.
