Albany Junior High School has embarked on an exciting journey to build a Whare Wananga (meeting house) for our school and wider community – a meeting place where students can learn and grow in a safe, holistic, enriching environment.
Pinehurst School has very generously donated one of its buildings, so, having relocated our new whare wananga building to our school grounds, we are now working through the process of renovating it.
There are significant costs involved to move and set up the whare wananga, and we are working to bring sponsors on board, as well as reaching out to our community. If you can help in any way with services and materials, please contact us directly, or consider donating through our Give A Little whare wananga fundraising webpage.
We a very grateful to the following sponsors for their support:
QIZZLE (school and office supplies including school stationery)
Shore Community Church
Growing Spaces Ltd
We are incredibly grateful to Growing Spaces who have come on board to lead our project, donating time and resources and making our dream a reality. The team are at school frequently, helping create a unique space for our tamariki to learn and grow.
